Test Platform
We downloaded, installed,
and tested
CloneDVD 4.3 (DVD X Studios) to run on two test computers. One
computer was "Home-Brewed" with an Athlon AMD 64 X2 4800 Dual-Core
processor running at 2.4GHz, 1GB of memory, 100GB hard drive, and a
Sony DRU-510A DVD/RW drive 32X (CD) and 12X (DVD). The other computer,
a Gateway E06500D, with an Intel Pentium(R) running at 3GHz, 1GB of
memory, 100GB hard drive, and a Plextor PX-708A DVD/RW drive (40X (CD)
and 12X (DVD).
Test Results
The installation was
flawless on both test computers. The original DVD movie was "Matrix
Reloaded" (2003) starring Keanu Reeves and Laurence
Fishburne. The movie runtime was 138 minutes. Upon inserting the original DVD movie and
pressing the "Start" button, 15 minutes lapsed until we were prompted
to insert blank DVD media. The DVD movie burning process was less than
10 minutes. We then inserted the copied DVD movie in our DVD player and
the copy quality was that of the original to include all of the extras
and menus options we selected. The same process was perform on our second test
computer and it took 16 minutes to copy the movie and
approximately 9 minutes to burn the movie to DVD.
CloneDVD 4.1 (DVD X Studios)
has one of the most beautiful User Graphical Interfaces we have seen
to date and it is very well laid out and easy to navigate.
Options are available to copy the
Entire DVD Disc (to include menus, languages, extras, and special
features; Copy the Movie Only; Create your own Customized
DVD; or, Split a DVD to fit on two discs.
After inserting our DVD,
CloneDVD 4.3 (DVD X Studios)
automatically detected the DVD and presented us
with the information displayed below. We elected to leave the default
settings by copying the entire DVD to include menus, special features,
and languages.

prompted us to insert a blank DVD.

burning process began immediately.

DVD was copied.

CloneDVD 4.3 (DVD X Studios) from
start to finish produced a high-quality DVD in 29 minutes flat! Not bad for
a movie that has a runtime of 138 minutes.

Pros
We really like
CloneDVD 4.3 (DVD X Studios) for many reasons. Firstly, the user interface was "exquiste"
and well laid out. We found it very easy to navigate. The software ran
without a hitch. The feature set included everything one would need
for customizing the final DVD Copy product. No need to install a
third-party decrypter.

Quality of Copy
The final copy was an
exact replica of the original when a full bit-by-bit copy was
performed. A blindfold test could not tell the
difference. You really have to see and experience this for yourself to
appreciate the quality of the copied DVD.
Customer/Technical Support
We Emailed
CloneDVD 4.3 (DVD X Studios) during normal working hours just to see how quickly they
would respond. Within an hour, a response was received. Their website
has an excellent customer support system in place as well as an
excellent forum.
