Test Platform
We downloaded, installed,
and tested
DVD95Copy Pro to run on two test computers. One
computer was an Athlon AMD 64 X2 4800 Dual-Core
processor running at 2.4GHz, 1GB of memory, 100GB hard drive, and a
Sony DRU-510A DVD/RW drive 32X (CD) and 12X (DVD). The other computer,
a Gateway E06500D, with an Intel Pentium(R) running at 3GHz, 1GB of
memory, 100GB hard drive, and a Plextor PX-708A DVD/RW drive (40X (CD)
and 12X (DVD).
Test Results
The installation was
flawless on both test computers. The original DVD movie was "Rush
Hour 2" (a DVD-9) starring Jackie Chan and
Chris Tucker. The movie runtime was 123 minutes. We selected
the Movie Only option. Upon inserting the original DVD movie and
pressing the "Start" button, 18 minutes lapsed until we were prompted
to insert blank DVD media. The DVD movie burning process was less than
10 minutes. We then inserted the copied DVD movie in our DVD player and
the copy quality was Near-DVD Quality because we compressed the
original DVD-9 movie to fit on a DVD-5 disc. The same process was perform on our second test
computer and it took 19 minutes to copy the movie and
approximately 13 minutes to burn the movie to DVD. We
encountered a problem playing several of the copied DVDs in our DVD
player.

Pros
Easy installation and easy to use. With
the problems corrected in the previous version, the program ran well
and produced good copies of all DVD movies we copied. We were really
struck at how fast
DVD95Copy Pro
produced copies. We initially though the application was not making
full backups. But it made full copies in less than 30 minutes.
Cons
DigiMedic Tech
fixed an annoying problem that appeared in the previous version. DVD95
Copy Pro did not automatically eject the original DVD when the ripping
process as complete and it did not automatically eject the copied DVD
when the burning process was completed. This is minor.
Quality of Copy
For those DVDs that played well, the
audio and video quality was good on compressed DVD and excellent on
1:1 copies were there was no compression.
Customer/Technical Support
We Emailed
DVD95Copy Pro during normal working hours just to see how quickly they
would respond. Within an hour, a response was received. Their website
has an excellent customer support system in place as well as an
excellent forum.
